Top 5 places to visit in the US
If you are thinking of travelling to the US, it might be hard to know where to start. After all, the United States is not just a vast space of land, but a whole continent made up of various different towns, villages and states each with their own charms, traditions and people.
With that in mind, deVere Group has compiled a (by no means exhaustive) list of where you might consider visiting:
New York City - The Big Apple is a must-see for anyone. From Times Square and Rockefeller center to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Broadway, the city that never sleeps has attractions and excitement 24-7. Hotels prices range from just over $100 for a two-star hotel to over $200 for a four to five-star hotel in or near Times Square.
New Orleans, Louisianna - From Bourbon Street to a Mississippi River Cruise, New Orleans has much excitement and fun even after Mardi Gras. Boisterous, eternally-youthful and always a party, New Orleans offers the perfect balance of beautiful architecture, great food and a guaranteed good time. You can visit secluded bayous by airboat, take in the picturesque French Quarter, hang out in the revitalized Arts District and sample Cajun and Creole delicacies. Golf or shop by day and enjoy some jazz by night in the French Quarter. New Orleans has night life and festivals all year long!
Denver, Colorado - The Mile High City is known for its microbreweries, mountains and, starting in 2014, legal recreational marijuana. In addition to those draws, Denver also has ton of museums, beautiful parks and ample outdoor activity. Even if you don’t ski, Denver has lots to do all year long, from the Botanic Gardens and the Denver Zoo to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Coors Brewery Tour.
Seattle, Washington - This Pacific Northwest staple is a must-see. Seattle is known to be one of the best coffee cities in the country — it’s the birthplace of that little chain called Starbucks — and has too many delicious espresso and coffee joints to count. Capitol Hill is the main gathering place for 20-somethings who like to drink on the cheap. Seattle is the perfect book lover’s happy place — it has the most bookstores per capita.
Honolulu, Hawaii - With its white sand beaches, surfing and gorgeous skies, there is much to do in beautiful Honolulu. The capital of Hawaii has been called the greenest city in America. Take in the sights at the Manoa Falls or hike Diamond Head by day and see the Legends in Concert Waikiki by night. With a number of cultures mingling in one gorgeous city, you can balance trips to museums, cultural centres and the Waikiki Aquarium with relaxing rests on the stunning neighbouring Waikiki beaches.
